Welcome to my World

My name is Ian W. Wright, I was born on our queen's 21st birthday, April 21st, 1947 and I live in Sheffield, England with my wife Linda.

We have 2 children, Kieron, born in 1975 and Sarah, born in 1979 and a delightful grandson, Oliver, who was born in 2003.

I am now retired from my job in local government where I was a Facilities Manager and building surveyor involved mainly in the detailed operation, maintenance and management of the City Council's office buildings, specialising particularly in building services.

Retirement has given me the chance to devote more of my time to my preferred occupations of watchmaking, playing with and conducting brass bands, light engineering, painting and writing.

Living on the edge of the Peak District National Park, I also love walking on the hills or just sitting and watching the sun set over distant hills and valleys.
